ROOTED IN CHRIST

Ephesians 3,17:

Then Christ will live in your hearts because you believe in him. And I pray that your love will have deep roots and a strong foundation

But why are deep roots and a strong foundation important?

it goes on: to comprehend with all the Lord’s holy people how wide and long and how high and deep the love of Christ is. To know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge and to be filled with all the fullness of God.

- That’s what I want.

Jesus asks: “Did you notice: There is no mention of the fruit. No mention of performance-related outcome, which is so often talked about.”

He says:

“It’s about your roots. You start with the roots and fruit will follow! So remember: You don’t give life to the root. The root gives life to you. Romans 11,18.

Like a tree planted near a stream of water. It always bears its fruit at the right time. Psalm 1,3. Don’t put any effort into producing the fruit. I prepared it beforehand.”

- We are created for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them. Ephesians 2,10.

He says:

“If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit. You can’t do anything without me.” John 15,5
